Steam power changed agriculture in England between 1810-1850 because steam-powered railways helped transport and sell agricultural products far from where it was grown.
At the beginning of the 19th century the British invented steam locomotives, which allowed the transportation of large quantity of goods and raw material to be delivered from the farms to the cities. Now fresh goods could be transported to far places. Besides, the costs for the transportation of these goods became much cheaper since a large amount could be carried out in many wagons.
