There are no countries in the entire continent of Africa that were not at some point colonized. However, Ethiopia, which is in East Africa, was colonized for the shortest time. There were a group of Italians who made a colony in Ethiopia (now known as Italians of Ethiopia), following the capture of Abyssinia by the Italians in 1936.
Only two countries in Africa were never colonized. One, Liberia, was founded by freed American slaves in the 1800s. The other, _______, was temporarily occupied by Italy during WWII, and the Italians tried twice to colonize it, but were unsuccessful.
