Explanation :
A sound wave is one of the longitudinal waves which travels in the form of compression and rarefaction. In compression, the pressure density is more as compared to that of rarefaction.
Human ear consists of outer ear, middle and inner ear. The sound that is collected by pinna goes to the auditory canal. Then it moves to a thin membrane called eardrum and vibration of sound takes place. These vibrations move to three bones i.e. hammer, anvil and stirrup.
The pressure variations get transferred into electrical signals. With the help of the auditory nerve, the electrical signals go into the brain.
