A landscaper charges $30 for each job plus an additional $20 for each hour work write an expression to represent the total cost of a landscape job explain what the variable used in the expression represents

Respuesta :

30 + 20h = t

h stands for hours of work

t stands for total cost

T= 30 + 20h

T= total cost of landscape job
h= how many hours the landscaper takes to complete the work

You have a starting cost of $30 for each job, which is where the 30 in the equation comes from, plus you have to add on the time it takes him which is $20 per hour so that is h.

Ex: Lets say it took the landscaper 6 hours to complete the work. You simply substitute 6 in for h

T= 30 + 20(6)
T= 30 + 120
T= 150
So the total cost if it took the landscaper 6 hours would be $150

Hope this helps :)
