To ensure a safe experience on an ATV, be sure to follow all instructions listed on the vehicle or on it's instruction manual. Always be sure to carry extra gas, bandages/band-aids and other items found in a first aid kit. Be sure to always have a hand or foot on the brake and to accelerate at a safe speed. Make sure you watch what is in front of you and listen to make sure there is no peculiar sounds coming from the engine. Do not run over rocks that are sharp or 3-5 inches tall. Always ride on designated roads and wear a helmet plus (optionally) elbow pads, knee pads, impact vests, boots, gloves, ect. Clean out the air filter every 10 hours of riding in dusty terrain and check the oil every 2-3 months. In loose sand, mud, hills or mountains, switch to 4-wheel drive when available. I hope this was enough information! ask if you have any more questions; have fun and drive safely!
