If your BMI ranges below 18.5, you're underweight, 18.5- 24.9 then, you have normal weight, 25- 29.9, then you're overweight and 30-39.9, you're obese.
What is BMI?
- BMI stands for body mass index.
- It is defined as the body mass divided by the square of the body height.
BMI= [tex]mass of body i.e. weight (kg)/ (height)^{2} (m^{2} )[/tex].
So, if your mass is 53 kg and height is 4 feet 11 inches which is equal to 1.5 meter.
Then, BMI= 53/(1.5 x 1.5) = 23.5 kg/m2.
This means that your BMI ranges for normal weight.
- If your BMI indicates that you are underweight, overweight or have an unhealthy body just consult it with you doctors. As it can increase your health risk and you may or may not be having enough nutrients in your diet.
Hence, the BMI ranges will indicate about your weight status.
