An athlete runs at 6 m/s north for a distance of 12 000 m, then turns around and walks at 2 m/s south back to her original position.
How long does it take her to walk back to her original location?

The distance she has to run back to her original position is 12,000 m.

Her speed on the way back is 2 m/s .

Time = (distance) / (speed) = (12,000 m) / (2 m/s)  =  6,000 seconds.

That's 100 minutes, or 1 hour 40 minutes.
