Here's why: Diazepam is used to relieve muscular spasms, anxiety, and convulsive crisis. When someone who has been taking this medication for an extended period of time stops the treatment, the original symptoms appear again, worsened by the abstinence effect.
The only symptom in the list that doesn't apply is bradycardia (slow heart rate), because the abstinence effect of benzodiazepines accelerates the heart rate instead, producing tachycardia. The other symptoms are typical to this kind of abstinence, and should be assessed by the nurse.
