The Klan was formed with the aims to push back the reconstruction era activities in the south, especially the policies pertaining to the rights of local African American which ended in the American colonies.
The Klan employed the means of violence and terror activities against the white republicans. To influence the upcoming election, Klan started the destruction of property, assault, and murder of the white American in the Colonies.
