The biggest similarity between these areas in their move toward democracies is the creation of republic forms of government where branches of government check the other branches and the goal is an election process for representatives at the national level. For the USA it was the creation of a three branch system in which all branches are to check each other's power. France and Russia both experienced smaller steps toward the eventual republican government with both attempting to keep monarchies and add a parliament to aid in law creation in the name of the people. In Latin America the goal was to govern as the USA established, however, poverty and a long history of colonization left them insecure. This insecurity allowed for dictatorships and coups (overthrows) of the government to occur.
