Legally, african-americans had the right to vote. how was their right to suffrage compromised? please list 3 ways whites made it nearly impossible for blacks to vote.

1. They terrorized them and scared them into not voting by threatening or lynching .

2. They surrounded the polls so if some African Americans did come to vote they would be harassed

3 . They gerrymandered the districts and or made it hard for African Americans to be eligible to vote
