In Data Mart it holds only single subject area, it is built
for a dimensional model using a star schema. It focus on integrating
information from a given subject area or set of source systems. While Data Warehouse holds many subject areas
and a very detailed information it works to integrate all data sources, does
not necessarily use a dimensional model but feeds dimensional models.
