each state has a number of electors, equal to the number of representatives and senators from that state. It was created because ordinary people were thought to be uneducated and unable to vote intelligently. Regular citizens' votes are worthless, only electors' votes count and the one with the most votes is president.
Pros: None
Cons: Popular vote is essentially useless
Pros: None
Cons: Popular vote is essentially useless
Cons: This is a system set up by the founding fathers, people would want to stick with the passed down, original tradition.
It also gives low-population states a say in federal government where higher population states might overwhelm them, if its possible to that is.
Pros: It’s unfair for the person who wins the most votes because could still lose.
All votes should have the same power. Giving more power to voters in low-population states is unfair, there should at least be some kind of fair in it.
