How is this map different from a typical US map?

I have answered the first two parts of the question. I need help with the last part. Here is what I have:
The map above is different to other maps of the U.S. All of the states have crossed out their proper names and written in irish ones.

As you can see, the name of the state in the map are crossed and rewritten with a name that would not be familiar if mentioned to local citizens of united states. This indicates that other people beside citizens of united states were using this map.

2. The common thing is that All of the states now have Irish names.

Now we know that this map is created for Irish readers not local citizens. As you can see, name such as o'toole , Mulligan, and shaughnessy that are used to replace the name of the state is a very common family name for people in Ireland.

3. it helped the irish immigrants that saw it because it is easier for them to read and appealing to the immigrant eye

This map was created during the great famine era. At that period of time, people in ireland experienced massive hunger problem due to various factors such as war, inflation, and crop failure. This make many irish people decided to find better opportunities in united states.

1. A typical map may have some additional components that are not clearly identifiable in 1900's one. Some examples may be:

Scale: maps, in general, are pretty accurate in terms of the relationship between distances on the map and the actual distances on Earth. This may not be the case for the "A Map of part of THE UNITED STATES."
Grids: series of lines that creates squares or rectangles, which helps locate places. The 1900's is missing this imp.

In addition, it is a map of a portion of the US territory.

2. The common thing among the new names on the map is that they are Irish. It is observable that the map was modified (by crossing the original names) in order to serve the ongoing Irish immigrants to locate in the territory.

3. A considerable number of Irish immigrants started to move to the US throughout the 18th century, arriving to New England, Maryland, Pennsylvania, North and South Carolina and Virginia. Nonetheless, the great potato famine caused a another massive migration and by 1845 settlements were established in New York and Boston. For these tow waves of immigrants, the map was a necessary tool to identify known places where to establish. It is also important to note that they were limited by language barrier, so having maps in their mother tongue supposed an extra aid in an unknown place.
