This is comes from the story “”Master Harold” … and the boys” written by Athol Fugard. It is a play about a boy Harold ( Hally) who grows up in the time of Apartheid in South Africa and he is friends with Sam, one of the two black men working in his mother’s teahouse. The setting is the tearoom on a rainy day where Sam and Willie need to clean up, but they practice ballroom dancing.
Question: How does the setting add meaning to "Master Harold" . . . and the Boys?
Answer: B) Sam is able to assert his role as a surrogate father to Hally without interruption.
