You can determine if a newly discovered organism was prokaryotic or eukaryotic by determining if it has a nucleus. If it has a nucleus and membrane bound organelles, then it's eukaryotic. If not, then it's prokaryotic.
Prokaryotes are organisms that do not have a nucleus defined to their layers while eukaryotes are the animals or plants having a nucleus bounded to the nuclear membrane.
To resolve the cell variety of newly found organism one can check for the nucleus and membrane-bound cell components.
If the cell has a nucleus bordered by a sheath along with organelles like mitochondria, Golgi, ER, plastids etc then it will belong to eukaryotes.
If the cell does not contain a membrane defined nucleus and rather have a nucleoid possessing the genetic material then the cell is a prokaryote cell.
