Answer is a. Lincoln uses a biblical allusion to help his effort to justify the war. Because Lincoln's speech used a lot of diction and tone to create and emphasize his purpose to unite a split nation. The use of these rhetorical devices allowed Lincoln to achieve the purpose of his speech in binding and healing a broken nation to create the United States of America ,one nation under God.
