The sum of two numbers is 28 and their difference is 4. What are the numbers?

The sum of the two numbers would be 12 and 16. 12+16=28 and 16-12=4

x+y=28----(a)
x-y=4----(b)
(a)-(b)
2y=24
y=24/2=12----(c)
use (c) in (b)
x=4+12=16
