In the Presidential elections of 1844, The Americans elected James Polk as the President of the country and one of the major reasons of his victory was that James Polk had promised to deliver more lands to American people once he gets elected and he fulfilled his promises which he made during elections by gaining authority over Oregon and provoking war with Mexico in order to gain access to California.
