2(4x-11) = 10
On dividing 2 on both sides
[tex] \frac{2(4x-11)}{2} = \frac{10}{2} [/tex]
[tex]4x-11 = 5[/tex]
On Adding 11 on both sides:
[tex]4x-11+11 = 11+5[/tex]
[tex]4x = 16[/tex]
On dividing both side by 4
[tex] \frac{4x}{4} = \frac{16}{4} [/tex]
[tex]x = 4[/tex]
Second way is:
We can use distributive property as
[tex]2(4x-11) = 10[/tex]
[tex]2*4x- 2*11 = 10[/tex]
[tex]8x - 22 = 10[/tex]
On Adding 22 on both side
[tex]8x - 22+22 = 10+22[/tex]
[tex]8x = 32[/tex]
On dividing both side by 8
[tex] \frac{8x}{8} = \frac{32}{8} [/tex]
[tex]x = 4[/tex]
