Some nuclear reactions produce Radon gas a natural byproduct of the reaction itself. Radon gas is a toxic inert gas with a half life of 3.8 days. Radon is usually formed from the radioactive decay of uranium and undergoes further radiation producing alpha, beta and gamma particles.
