Invasive species generate disturbing, often continuing harm to native species. A whole ecosystem can collapse when there is an asymmetry in the earth. The Florida Everglades is one such ecosystem that is being endangered by an invasive variety the Burmese python.

Although there is an invisible hazard to it from direct human influence, invasive species, particularly the Burmese python, endanger the original wildlife and the ecosystem as a complex. Burmese pythons feed on vertebrates and birds and are associated with prey on indigenous species, such as the endangered American alligator and Key Largo woodrat.

We have that the Impacts the Burmese pythons is that, they are seen to have a drastic impact on the depletion of Rodent animals, and the starvation of other snakes.

Ecosystems

Generally, a Burmese python is naturally a predator in an ecosystem, but for a local ecosystem it might be top of the food chain as it hunts and kills its prey.

Therefore, we see from research that the python causes the depletion of Rodent animals e.g the raccoons in an introduced ecosystem.

This also results in a food reduction for other snakes in the ecosystem, causing them to die away.
