The first revelation of Prophet Muhammad was an event which took place in 610 AD on 17th of Ramadan at night. During this time, the prophet of Islam, Muhammad was visited by the archangel Jibril.
Jibril revealed to him that the beginning of what could later become the Quran in the present world. The event took place in a cave which was known as Hira, located on the mountain named Jabal al-nour and was somewhere near Mecca.
