Based upon the information given, the best treatment of JC's symptoms would be to check his blood glucose measurement (BGM) by fingerstick, and if low, feed his something like fruit juice and then a meal. Those symptoms could indicate an insulin-induced hypoglycemia. It is not uncommon in patients who are adjusting to a higher, or more rigorous, insulin dose.
