[Consolidated] Assets of the Federal Reserve include securities, discount loans gold and SDR (special drawing rights) certificate accounts coin cash items in the process of collection, other Federal Reserve assets including deposits and bonds denominated in FOREIGN currencies as well as physical goods and capital owned such as computers, office equipment, etc. by the Federal Reserve System.
Consolidated liabilities of the Federal Reserve System include Federal Reserve notes outstanding which are essentially I owe you's and the bank notes in our wallets. Reserves, because all banks have an account at the Federal Reserve Bank in their geographic region where their reserves are stored which is otherwise known as Vault cash. US Treasury deposits, foreign and other deposits, deferred availability cash items such as cash items in the process of collection, and other Federal Reserve liabilities and capital accounts not included Elsewhere on balance sheet.
