When conducting a hygiene class for adolescent girls, it is important for the nurse to include which instruction about preventing toxic shock syndrome?

Tampons give toxic shock syndrome. So I'm guessing the period talk

Toxic shock can come from wearing a tampon. It is very rare but does happen. It would be important for the nurse to tell adolescent girls to change their tampon regularly meaning not to leave one in for more than 3 hours, not to have sex while wearing a tampon and to make sure that they are inserting it properly. Also if they display any of the symptoms of shock to go to the nurse, doctor or emergency room.
