The sum of two numbers is 61.61. if three times three times the smaller number is subtracted from the larger? number, the result is 5.5. find the two numbers.

x + y = 61
y - 3x = 5...y = 3x + 5

x + (3x + 5) = 61
4x + 5 = 61
4x = 61 - 5
4x = 56
x = 56/4
x = 14

y - 3x = 5
y - 3(14) = 5
y - 42 = 5
y = 42 + 5
y = 47

ur 2 numbers are 14 and 47
