There are many things you can do talk to him, take him somewhere he loves to go to cheer him up. The most important thing is to just be there wit him. Let him know you are there if he ever needs anything. He will overcome it soon/ or maybe not if they were really close. He is going to need a lot of support or just a shoulder to lean on for a little bit. JUST BE THERE FOR HIM, HE WILL BE SO GRATEFUL AFTERWARDS.

Embrace your emotions and observe them
After a loss, it is expected that feelings such as
- Fear
- Sadness
- Guilt
- Anger
- and Insecurity
are potentiated and, with this, some behaviors become evident, such as the desire to be alone and the feeling of lack of energy or motivation, for example. It is important to note that, during the period of mourning, your emotions are responses to the changes that occur from the lack that the person makes in your life. Try to welcome your feelings, without avoiding or suppressing them.
With this information, we can conclude that welcoming the person is the best thing to do to heal the grieving process.
