Say there were 4 pans of brownies, you would add 400 and 32 together. 432 divided by 4 would be 108. We added 32 to 400 to see how many chocolate chips would be dispersed into each pan "evenly" but since there are 32 fewer chocolate chips you would see that the last pan would only receive 69 chocolate chips.
