To help US veterans of the war reintegrate into US society. The bill provided former troops with low-cost mortgages, low-interest loans to start a business, cash payments of tuition and living expenses to attend university, high school or vocational education, as well as one year of unemployment compensation. These were only a few of the ranges of benefits the troops received upon arrival to the United States.
