Werewolves have long been a myth that haunted children’s dreams. In those legends it was the rising of the full moon that caused men to change into foul, bloodthirsty beasts. Those beasts were half man and half wolf. Is it any wonder, then, that wolves had (and still have) such a bad stigma? Although wolves are not the most gentle of animals, they certainly are not the creatures depicted for years in movies and novels as vicious animals that would tear out your throat the moment they set eyes on you. Granted, it’s best not to get too close, especially when babies are in the litter, but they certainly are not the dark creatures so often depicted. That is just a myth. Which is the main idea of this paragraph?

If you're talking about main ideas as in "to inform, persuade, or others", then I would say, that the paragraph was written to inform the reader. It tells you about the history of werewolves and the myths commonly found in movies and  books. Hope this helps.

The main idea of this paragraph it sounds to me that the author is trying to get the readers to change their minds about werewolves from being bad but to good, i love wolves and out of a vampire and a werewolf hands down i would definatley pick a werewolf, but it think it all depends on the movies,tv shows, or novels you like/belive in
