The Democratic-Republican party divided into several separate parties, ultimately becoming the Democratic party.
The "Nation Republican Party" and the "Democratic Party" Happened at the Election of 1824, or when the "Federalist" party had collapsed. On that, we need to know that it was the Republican part that became the Democratic-Republican party. The Democratic-Republican party dominated most of the government, and there was not a balance, so the party split into two different factions because of the members being torn in the Democratic-Republican party. Their differences became serious as it headed toward the 1824 election. Both "sides" were backing four different people, so none of the four candidates received enough votes to win straight up. One of the four dropped out of the race, and put his foot down and put his full support on another candidate because their beliefs were similar. In the end, that man won and he made the other candidate his Secretary Of State. Many thought that this was an illegal act, and that split them out. I hope I could help! :D

Have a wonderful rest of the day.
