The Indus River flows through Pakistan and empties into the Arabian Sea. It is an important waterway and provided water for fruit orchards. The Brahmaputra river flows west and south from the himalaya through India into Bangladesh, where it joking with the Ganges. It is important for inland shipping and hydroelectric power. The Ganges flows east from the himalaya though the Ganges plain, which is Indias most agriculturally productive area. The Ganges has immense cultural and religious importance to India's people.
