not the optimal beverages for replenishing your body with the water it
needs. And if you take cost into account, you'll definitely want to grab a
glass of water! It is estimated; that 4000 glasses of tap water cost the
same as a six-pack of soda. If a six-pack of soda costs $1.80, how many
glasses of water would cost ten cents? Express your answer to the nearest
whole number.

According to the question , it is given that 4000 glasses of tap water cost the same as a six-pack of soda and six-pack of soda costs $1.80. That is it can be written numerically as,

Cost of 4000 glasses of water = 6 pack of soda

Cost of 6 pack of soda = $1.80

Then from the above two equation it can be written as,

 Cost of 4000 glasses of water = $1.80       (1)

We have to find, how many glasses of water would cost 10 cents, that is,

Cost of x glasses of water = 10cents

Firstly converting cents into dollar. We know that 1dollar = 100 cents

So, 10cents = 10/100 dollar

                    = 0.1 dollar

Therefore, Cost of x glasses of water = 0.1dollar    (2)

Now applying unitary method, equation (1) and (2) can be written as

$1.80 = 4000

$0.1 = (4000*0.1)/1.8

         = 222.22 ≈ 222

Hence, 222 glasses of water would cost 10 cents.
