Quality control (QC) is a procedure or set of procedures designed to ensure that a manufactured product or service meets a defined set of quality criteria or meets the needs of the client or customer. Quality control (QC) is similar to, but not the same as, quality assurance (QA).

There are some quality control methods. An x-bar chart, Six Sigma, 100% inspection mode, and the Taguchi Method are examples of these.

Quality control methods are a collection of techniques used throughout all stages of a business to ensure that products and/or services meet or exceed customer/client expectations.
