What is shamanistic role ?

Shamans perform a variety of functions depending upon their respective cultures; healing, leading a sacrifice, preserving traditions by storytelling and songs, fortune-telling, and acting as a psychopomp ("guide of souls"). A single shaman may fulfill several of these functions.

To communicate with a spirit's consciousness, the shaman tries to transfer their own state of awareness. They may employ different approaches, such as repetitive sounds and mediation.

In ancient times, healers were called shamans. They work with the spirit, healing illnesses at a soul level. They collect insights and acquire knowledge by working with spirits of nature (i.e. land, trees and rocks).
