Operational difference of semilunar valves and atrioventricular valves are;
Semilunar valves are Half-moon shaped valves present at the base of aorta and the pulmonary artery, these semilunar valves prevent the backward flow of blood from atrium and ventricles.
Semilunar valves are not held together by Chordae tendinea.
While atrioventricular valves are flap shaped and are present between the atrium and ventricles, these valves allow the backward flow of blood to some extent.
