Supporting democracy helps build a more safe, stable, and affluent global environment where the United States may advance its national interests in addition to advancing such core American principles as worker rights and freedom of religion. Furthermore, democracy is the only national interest that contributes to the protection of all the others. Due to democracy it is the American public that holds the power of electing and removal of the authority.
