What is achilles ?
Achilles, also known as Achilleus, was the protagonist of Homer's Iliad and a hero of the Trojan War in Greek mythology. He was also the greatest of all Greek soldiers. He was the child of Phthia's king Peleus and the Nereid Thetis.
The killing of the Trojan prince Hector outside Troy's gates was Achilles' most illustrious achievement during the Trojan War. Although the Iliad does not mention Achilles' passing, other sources agree that Paris shot him with an arrow close to the end of the Trojan War. Later tales claim that Achilles was invulnerable throughout his entire body with the exception of one heel, beginning with Statius' incomplete epic Achilleid, which was written in the first century AD.
