Irish Roman Catholics are an ethnoreligious group.  They are native to Ireland.  The members of the group are both Catholic and Irish. They own a large diaspora, which includes Americans who were more than 20 million.

78.3 percent of Irish people themselves are identified as Catholic in the census taken in 2016. It was actually a decrease as it was 93%percent in 1926. Ireland grows more secular and liberal, they have a strict religious observation.

Irish were considered the most powerful ethnic group in the  U.S catholic church during mass migrations from the mid-1800s to the early 20th century.

They were represented among the clergy and over-represented the episcopacy, Irish clergy had taken the lead in the church building and serving the immigrant populations of the industrial cities on the East Coast by the mid-nineteenth century.
