Most periodic plans in Nepal have failed to meet their targets because of the enormous gap between plan formulation and implementation. The national capacity to carry out plans and produce appropriate results is woefully inadequate. This is due to our inability to maximise the use of physical, human, and financial resources.
In Nepal, before the initiation and elaborate unfolding of a successive periodic plan, it is discussed at various levels, including the National Development Council. The development plan's priorities and objectives are set and specified. However, in Nepal, the development plans' goals and objectives are hazy and overly ambitious.Up till the present, the government of Nepal has implemented a total of 15 plans. wherein the second, eleventh, twelfth, thirteenth & fourteenth plans were of a duration of 3 years. The currently endorsed plan is a five-year plan that targets to make us the citizens of a developing country by the end of 2024
