The setting used in poem is an event where, that happened to us in our childhood, when we were a child we accidentally lost our parents/Gaurdian in a market or mall, and all sudden we start following someone(stranger) thinking he's someone we know.
The writer trying to narrate speakers feeling for her father, as she lost her parents she's following a strange person whome she don't even know, neither ever recieved Love from him.
The writer, being stunned by the glass partition, is making us aware that those whom we are chasing thinking ours is not actually ours. He is just a stranger, and when we come to know about this, we get stunned.
