In my opinion Soviet Union was more responsible for the cold war than United state. The Cold War was mostly caused by the Soviet Union , as well as sustained by the Soviet Union , and was also ended by the Soviet Union when it collapsed. Stalin had desired to dominate the world under Communism. He control of Eastern Europe was seen to be his first step towards this. The USSR(Soviet Union) made the Berlin blockade in 1948 making it impossible for the West to enter Berlin by land.
In addition, Stalin sought to expand its territory at the end of World War II. This shows the mistrust and expansionism, along with Stalin's dishonest negotiation and belligerent rhetoric, laid the foundations for the Cold War. The reason for this is because the Soviet Union were known to be infiltrating liberated countries and forcing communism upon them which aggravated the western powers.
