Basically, Rosa Parks was an African American woman who boarded a public bus on December 1, 1955 (segregation times) and sat toward the front of the bus (typically, where whites sat). When a white man boarded the bus and there were no more seats toward the front he demanded her to move to the back because he believed he deserved it more than her bc she was African American. Rosa refused to move and as the laws at the time stated that she had to move, she was arrested. This led to African Americans boycotting these public buses in order to stand up for the rights that African Americans should have just like everyone else.
