1- Once HIV enters our body, it chases after CD4 cells because it needs them to survive and multiply. CD4 cells (a type of white blood cell) are considered the soldiers of our organism. They warn our body when it is being invaded by some bacteria or viruses.
2 - When the virus enters the cell, it turns it into a virus factory, changing the function of that cell, which, instead of watching our body, starts to manufacture more HIV.
3- In this way, HIV will destroy a large part of our CD4 cells, destroying our body's defenses. Because of this, our body is more exposed to illness. When a person gets sick, they can be said to have AIDS.
4- But at the same time HIV replicates, other CD4 cells are also reproducing in our body. That's why it sometimes takes a long time for the person to get sick.
