1.While some parents are more interested in their own social relationships than in their children, other parents spend their evenings working or involved in time-consuming activities which keep them from spending those hours with their sons or daughters. When parents are preoccupied or away, children will seek attention elsewhere, usually in undesirable surroundings, with people who will recognize and accept them. In a situation of too much freedom and no discipline, the child gets into trouble, and parents often discover the problem too late. The lack of parental discipline and concern frequently results in severe problems for both the child and the parent.

1) I think that there is a sentence which embrasses all the needed points which should be listed : The lack of parental discipline and concern frequently results in severe problems for both the child and the parent. It is sort of conclusion of such points : the lack of discipline, the lack of respinsibility, example of people who are still not ready for having children, neglecting own duty, late awareness.

2)The pattern of development which would best fit the topic ''The Freshwater and Saltwater Flounder" is definitely comparison/contrast due to conjunction and, of course due to the fact that there is two type of fishes that live and develop in completely different conditions which means there ae many aspects of contrast.

3) I am pretty sure that the pattern of development which would best fit the topic ''An Hour in the Dentist's Office" is spatial order. I think that we should depend on the fact that there is a location in the name of topic, so we can predict that there can be a description of objects and other things  to their physical position.

4) It seems to me that the
pattern of development would best fit the topic
"Boggstown--How It Used to Look" - is particular to general. I consider this way of developing as there is a central object on which the tone of the story will be focused - that is usual for ''particular to general'' texts.
