In the short story "All Summer in a Day," the author describes the color of the landscape in paragraph 59:
D. To illustrate how the sun revealed the truth of life on Venus to the children.
The science-fiction short story "All Summer in a Day" by Ray Bradbury is set in Venus, where the sun only comes out for two hours every seven years.
Most of the children in the story have lived all of their lives in Venus. The last time the sun came out, they were only two years old. So, they don't remember what it felt and looked like.
The exception is Margot, who came to Venus from Earth only 5 years ago. She remembers the sun, and the other kids hate her for that. They are also jealous that she will probably go back to Earth soon.
When the sun appears, Margot is locked in by the other children. They go out and enjoy the two hours of sunlight without her.
Bradbury attributes the color of "flaming bronze" to the sun and of "blazing blue tile" to the sky. His purpose is to show how the sun reveals what life could be like in Venus if it didn't rain all the time.
The children realize Margot was right about the sun. They also realize she has not enjoyed it because of their jealousy.
