Which means for every 6 cats sold 5 dogs are sold.

Is 12 cats are sold: 6*2=12
Because we multiply the number of cats sold by 2 we do the same for dogs:
5*2=10.

So, if 12 cats are sold then 10 dogs are sold.
The answer is 10.
