A fallacy is the use of faulty reasoning when making an argument that is not logically accurate or false.

  • Ad Hominem
  • Slippery Slope
  • False Dilemma, etc

As a result of this, they are used when a person does not want to make use of logic to argue.

For example, if a person says,

  • "Einstein failed his exams twice before he became a genius. I failed my exams last year and failed this year, tha means I would be a genius" This is fallacy because he is not properly applying logic to his utterances.
  • "That girl from Ohio is ugly. Therefore, all the girls in Ohio are ugly". This is also fallacy and it is called hasty generalisation.
