While LOTR would be a difficult book to turn into a movie, considering how long and detailed it is, and I respect Peter Jackson’s attempt, there was certainly things he could have improved on. The major changes he made were:
Cutting out Tom Bombadil
Cutting Barrow-Wights and Barrow-Down
Replacing Glorfindel with Arwen
Changing the attitudes of the characters
Shrinking the scale of the war of the Ring
Small changes to various events and details
While I support the decision to remove Tom Bombadil and introduce Arwen better, there are certainly many bad changes PJ made. Here are the top 5 that very much annoyed me.
